NEUTRAL pH

​Agar has a neutral pH value, creating gels in solution by hydrogen bonds alone, other hydrocolloids often require unwanted additives to form a solid gel.

UNIQUE HYSTERESIS

The wide 50ºC difference between gelling temperature and melting point makes agar versatile to use in both liquid and gel form up to 90ºC

VEGETABLE ORIGIN​

Agar is present in the plant cell wall and as an extract is free of any chemical modification. Our agars are manufactured in an animal free and ecologically sustainable process, perfect for vegan diets

Name Description

AGARITE​

Agarite is a line of agars manufactured from selected species of seaweed to produce an agar suitable for use in high sugar products and for foods that require high gel points such as bakery, jams, icings, and glazings. Agarite is available in a variety of gel strengths and is ideal in products that require rapid gelling. Agarite also may be used as an animal free alternative to gelatin in applications such as gummy nutraceuticals.

QSOL® HIGH SOLUBILITY AGAR​

Qsol® High Solubility Agar is a quick dissolving agar that completely dissolves at the relatively low temperature of 80ºC. It is perfect for applications where energy savings is a concern and to avoid the loss of organoleptic properties in products where other ingredients are heat sensitive. More info.

QSOL® SOFT HIGH SOLUBILITY AGAR​

QSol® Soft has properties similar to our Qsol High Solubility Agar but is spreadable in gel form. This product is a perfect texturizer for spreadable food products.

ECO AGAR​®

EcoAgar® is a certified organic agar targeted toward the growing health and organic food markets. It is manufactured from seaweed collected in ecologically certified natural environments and extracted following strict eco requirements. Certified organic agar is an all-natural, vegetarian thickening agent that can be used in icings, jellies, candies, yogurts and a number of other food applications. More info.

GOLD AGAR​

Gold Agar is a premium food grade agar manufactured from selected species of seaweed to produce and agar with a particularly low gelling temperature. This agar is suitable for use in a wide range of applications such as confectionary, bakery, glazing, dairy and meat products. The low gelling temperature makes Gold Agar particularly useful in applications where solutions must be kept in liquid form for longer periods of time. Gold Agar is stable when autoclaving and also performs well in adverse pH conditions.

AGARMEX FOOD GRADE AGAR​

Agarmex Food Grade agar is a premium agar manufactured from seaweed harvested exclusively from North America then processed and manufactured in Baja California. This agar is suitable for a wide range of applications and is available in fine and course mesh size.
